ದ್ವಿರುಕ್ತಿ - ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಈ ಡಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಬಲ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಮಾತಾಡೋಣ. ಕಾಮನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡೋ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅಂಥ ತಪ್ಪು ಅಜಗಜಾಂತರ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಅನ್ನೋದು! ಅಜ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಮೇಕೆ, ಗಜ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಆನೆ. ತುಂಬಾ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಅಂತ ಹೇಳೋಕೆ ಅಜಗಜಾಂತರ ಅನ್ನಬೇಕು. ಅಂತರ ಅಂದ್ರೇನೇ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ, ಮತ್ತೆ ಅಜಗಜಾಂತರ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಅನ್ನೋದ್ಯಾಕೆ? ಅದೇ ಥರ ಕೆಲವರು ನೀರವ ಮೌನ ಅಂತ ಬಳಸ್ತಾರೆ. ನೀರವ ಅಂದ್ರೇನೇ ನಿಶ್ಶಬ್ದ. ರವ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಶಬ್ದ, ನೀರವ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಮೌನ. ಹಾಗಿರುವಾಗ, ನೀರವ ಮೌನ ಅಂತ ಎರಡೆರಡು ಸಲ ಹೇಳೋದ್ಯಾಕೆ? ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದೆ ಇಂಥ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇರ್ತೀವಿ ಇನ್ನು ನೀವು ಈ ತಪ್ಪು ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ಮಾಡಲ್ಲ ಅಂತ ನಂಗೊತ್ತು.

ತಪ್ಪಾಗೋದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ವಿಚಾರ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಸರಿ ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಳೋದು ಸಣ್ಣ ವಿಚಾರನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಅದಕ್ಕೇ ನಾನು ಹೇಳೋದು - 'ಸರಿ'ಗನ್ನಡಂ ಗೆಲ್ಗೆ!

ನಿತ್ಯದ ಮಾತುಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸುವ ಎಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಕನ್ನಡ ಪದಗಳ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಅರ್ಥ ಹಾಗೂ ಸರಿಯಾದ ರೂಪ ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಪದಗಳ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಸ್ವಾರಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ, ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ, ನಾವು ಆಡುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಬರೆಯುವ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸೊಗಸನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಈ 'ಸರಿಗನ್ನಡಂ ಗೆಲ್ಗೆ' ಸರಣಿಯ ಗುರಿ.

We are usually not aware of the actual meaning and correct usage of several Kannada words we use in our daily lives. The main objective of the 'Sirigannadam gelge' series is therefore to bridge the gap between what we know and what is correct by understanding words and getting to know interesting tidbits about them, correcting our mistakes, and eventually beautifying and enhancing the quality of both spoken and written Kannada.
