The British civil service decides that ordinary English expressions are somehow racist

Forty years ago, any mention of lynching in America would bring to mind images of frontier justice being inflicted upon white cowboys guilty of cattle rustling. Today, this image has been replaced by that of white mobs hanging innocent black people. This change has been brought about quite deliberately.
