Donald Trump's lingering anger at Republican Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has a lot of Republicans worried that the former president could fracture the GOP in the state ahead of next year's gubernatorial election. Trump hasn't been able to find anyone to run against Kemp just yet, but former Senator David Perdue's name is one that has been floated. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains how Trump's anger could end up costing the GOP control of the state, if the circumstances are just right.

Every couple of days, there's a new story that comes out about Republicans freaking out about this regarding Trump. They're panicking about this regarding Trump. And of course, here's another story about Republicans starting to get scared because of something stupid Donald Trump is doing. And that stupid thing is he's continuing to tack oh two ATAC, uh, George's incumbent Republican governor Brian Kemp. Brian Kemp is up for reelection next year. Donald Trump keeps attacking him. Cause he's off that Kim did not overturn Georgia's election results in 2020 something that Kim couldn't do and glad he didn't do. Uh, but Trump's still mad. So we still attacking him. And Republicans now think that this could cause a primary challenge or to emerge that Donald Trump would likely endorse. And the name being floated right now, his former Georgia Senator David Perdue, his staff said he's going to make an announcement within the next month or so.

So maybe Purdue is maybe Purdue isn't. Purdue would definitely get Donald Trump's endorsement. And Republicans are afraid because what that's going to do is split the vote. But of course it splits the vote in the primary. However, this is where their fear comes in. Donald. Trump's going to go out there. Campaign furiously for David Purdue being super anti Brian Kemp. Well, Brian Kim still has a pretty good approval among Republicans in the state of Georgia. Even the pro Trump Republicans say, I actually, I like Kim, but if Trump goes out there, bloodies Kemp up enough to where his supporters don't support him anymore. And then Kim still wins the primary. You're going to have a lot of Republicans sit out that race. And the Democrats got a cruise to victory. Same thing. The other way, if Donald Trump goes out there and off normal Republicans who like camp and then David Purdue wins, the normal Republicans may sit it out and a Democrat may take that gubernatorial seat.

Honestly, I don't care which one of those scenarios happens just so long as one of them happens because that's what deserves to happen. That governorship and the state of Georgia right now should belong to Stacey Abrams and had it not been for Brian Kemp, who was secretary of the state of state at the time who purged more than a hundred thousand people from the voting roles, which easily, by the way, made up the difference in votes between the two Stacey Abrams likely would have won the whole thing. And Stacey Abrams has been doing some phenomenal work. She is one of the few people that I have just unabashed praise for because of everything she has done to get out the vote drives the registering people to vote drives, help paying off people's medical debts. Her group recently paid off $212 million in other people's medical debts. Yeah. Stacey Abrams is showing Democrats how to, how to be, how to be a good person. I don't know if she's running Georgia

Governor again, but if she does, I hope she wins. I would absolutely wholeheartedly support Stacey Abrams running for governor. Again. I like what she has done in the four years since she had the election taken from her. And I think she would be a good governor. And if Donald Trump goes out there and continue sticking his nose in this race, her chances of winning are only going to go up. Trump's Anger Could Cost Republicans Control Of Georgia
