Dozens of pub-goers, an Oasis tribute band and others aren’t looking back in anger, even after they were stranded at an English inn for nearly three days due to a snowstorm. The tribute band, Noasis, was scheduled to perform on Friday night at the Tan Hill Inn in Richmond, England, over 200 miles northwest of London. Although the band, pub employees and patrons knew snow was in the forecast, they didn’t know the weather would shut down roads, cause power lines to fall and more. The inn on Friday shared images on Facebook of their front door surrounded by snow and patrons appearing to roll with it, sleeping huddled together. The inn calls itself the United Kingdom's "highest pub" because it is located over 1,700 feet above sea level.“Bless our lovely pioneering customers who came along for the NOASIS gig, which was great … we always find a bed somewhere somehow when snowed in,” the inn shared, including the hashtag #Snowasis. The snow left approximately 61 people stranded, including seven inn employees, according to multiple reports. Although some of the stranded people previously booked rooms at the inn, others slept on the floor and on couches in the inn’s lounge. Nicola Townsend, the inn’s general manager, said a group of off-roaders did take some parents of young children home, the New York Times reported. An area mountain rescue group also helped evacuate a man for medical treatment. But on Saturday, the inn shared that, although a road was cleared, a power line fell and was still blocking travelers. Guests at the inn were greeted by approximately 3 feet of snow on Saturday morning. And on Sunday, the pub shared on Facebook that “no one is going anywhere” after they were “advised that more power cables have come down.”That didn’t stop the patrons, employees and band from keeping themselves entertained though. They turned to a pub quiz, karaoke and playing music. By Monday, approximately 50 of the original 61 people were still at the inn. But Monday was gonna be the day that saved the guests, after the roads were deemed safe enough to travel home. Townsend said two "young girls who are not confident to drive on the roads as they are” would go home on Tuesday, the Times reported. The inn shared on Facebook that “We will ALWAYS remember this group of amazing people who came together, and hopefully, in challenging circumstances, enjoyed what we all think was a life - changing experience."At least three people have died from falling trees as the extreme weather, known as Storm Arwen, hit parts of the United Kingdom, according to multiple reports. The storm has left thousands without power, and officials have issued warnings about high winds and other risks.
